Higdon was recently named winner of a Pulitzer prize for the piece they are talking of here, in a conversation which took place in Indianapolis right after the premier performance of the work.

This had so much insight into the process which goes into not only the writing but the playing- how wonderful to get a glimpse of the 'behind the scenes' activity which went into the actual composing and the final playing of this. There definitely had to be a lot of collaboration for it to be a success.
