creative practice, continued
I recently read a comment by Tim O' Brien that fifteen minutes practice on your instrument of choice each day will yield greater improvement than four hours once a week. Makes sense: you learn something, you think about it, you absorb it... also O'Brien plays guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, and probably other stuff, all really well, so it's advice to consider.
Reminded me, too, that one of the things Tim and I discovered during an interview a few years back is that parts of our families seem to have lived in the same area of northwestern Donegal, west of Letterkenny. Wonder if they ever played in sessions together?
