creative practice: songs and the natural world
Wild Mountainside
and
The Farthest Wave
by Scottish writer John Richard Douglas and Irish American singer and songwriter Cathie Ryan respectively, both draw the listener in to journeys of hope, with aspects of nature becoming both obstacle and comfort, both symbol and reality. Plenty of room for the listener’s understanding too, always the grace of a good song.
Labels: creative practice, snow, songwriter, the farthest wave, wild mountainside
