Creative practice: winter
Winter is a season of change, as much as fall, or spring, a time from drawing close to the fires of hearth and friendship as well as for braving the elements, for seeking both the silence of a winter landscape and the sounds of welcoming voices. I've always found it a fine time for creative review, resolutions, and new beginnings, as well. There is as much flowering and flourishing in the heart of winter as in the heart of spring, just of a different sort, or many different sorts. Darkness and light, changing one into the other, is always a fertile ground for change, as is the hand extended, to welcome the stranger and friend in from the cold.
