Cherish the Ladies at Milwaukee: The Back Door 2007
From the Cherish the Ladies reunion at Milwaukee Irish Fest, August 2007. This clip is only about one minute of the song. You may hear the whole song in an earlier post here. As fine a singer as Cathie Ryan was fifteen years ago when that earlier clip was recorded, she's only added more depth, passion, and experience to her singing with time.
The subject of her song is, unfortunately, still quite contemporary. There are many undocumented aliens in this country (and others); however one feels about the politics or economics of the situation, Ryan's song offers insight on many aspects of a rarely heard perspective.
Labels: cathie ryan, cherish the ladies, immigration, Irish American, irish music, Milwaukee Irish Festival, singer, songwriter
