Song for the weekend: Emily Smith: Glory Bound

Emily Smith and friends with Glory Bound, which was recorded for the program Songs of Praise, which aired in the UK. The song was written by Canadian writer Ruth Moody.

I think you should do a post on how many songs out there have the title "Glory Bound." As I clicked on the video, I wondered - would it be a cover of the Grass Roots version? The Martin Sexton one?

I have a version of the Wailin Jennys singing this song, and love it. It's neat to hear someone else's take on it. Who wrote it, Smith or the Jennys?

Ruth Moody wrote it. I know she was with the Jemmys. not sure if she is still.

Smith is a fine songwriter though, although this isn't one of hers. For the Songs of Praise show she was asked to come up with suggestions for songs that ahd to to with journeys as well as with faith, and this is one of those she offered.
