Creative practice: composing about politics
All political action is both local and global; sometimes the rhetoric is too, and songs, hymns and anthems have certainly been fellow travelers in more ways than one along those routes. There’s also the idea, a good one I think, that you can find a love song in the midst of a song about war and history. Try it.
